1 00:5717328:4104,4247605 --> 33:00:33,001 where are you're looking at live pictures of senator barack obama holding a town meeting with supporters in pennsylvania. of course, pennsylvaniaans will be voting april 22nd, that's 36 days away, if you're counting. of course, senator bm wm obama is in the headlines. criticism over the controversial comments from his former pastor. we will listen in to see if he says anything about that and listen to see if the senator comments on the economy today or the bear stearns/jp morgan deal over the weekend, the fed weighing in on that. >>> the fight between clinton and obama supporters is now getting so heated that some bloggers are threatening to boycott popular blogs that have become a hot bed between the democratic back and forth. one writes. >>> here now is matthew eglise asand taylor marsh joining us by phone. great to have you both. matthew, i'll start with you. any evidence that this strike is actually happening and is it driving bloggers away? >> well, you know, i think there is some evidence, naturally, that as this campaign goes on, some people have started to shy away from things they disagree with. i think at the end of the day, though, the primary process will end and people are going to come together. there's a lot of liberals and progressive energy out there and no one wants to see john mccain in the white house and i think that this -- >> does this blogger have a point that the notion of this strike? does this person have a point that maybe this shouldn't be going on among democrats, it's gotten too heated online, a little too ugly? >> i think it has gotten uglier than people want to see. certainly i think it's ununfortunate that this has dragged out this long. we hoped this would get wrapped up sooner. but senator clinton has decided she wants to stay in it as long as she has any sort of big hope of winning. so the process has tanned and continued and sort of escalating bitter tone to it. >> you write, quote. did he think by not inviting him to do the invocation at his announcement he could hid reverend wright's philosophical foundation which is at the core of his beliefs? >> i think it's obvious through david axle rod and the la times that they knew that this was going to come to the forefront. and they waited awfully long to get in front of it. it reminds me a little bit of the swift vote that's for truth. if you know something is going to come aat you, i think that what you do is you get in front of it earlier. you have, you know, senator obama so good at these town halls. he could of sat down with reverend wright and talked about it and said he is the past, i'm the future. instead, he waited till the very last moment and now he has got this terrible ordeal, the right wing is coming after him. they are not going to stop and it's really hurting his brand. >> taylor, let me just jump it because we're coming up against the end of the hour here. >> sure. >> what is your take on the broader question on the back and forth online between the democratic bloggers? is it getting too heated and too ugly? >> i think one of the problems you have is a lot of pro obama bloggers and commenters and diaries out there. the pro hillary clinton bloggers and their commenters have been banned from a lot of sites, they are targeted. there's a lot of hate diaries out there targeting hillary clinton supporters. a lot more than obama supporters. there's not a lot of balance. and that is why you have the anger is because it's very one-sided against the hillary clinton supporters and that is why this has erupted. >> matthew, do you agree? are the clinton supporters online bearing the brunt of this? >> she has had less support overall and including particular less support sort of online so her people feel a little beleaguered by that. but, at the same time, i don't think there is anything wrong with people having strong disagreements and expressing them. that is what this is about whether on the print or on the internet or anywhere. >> thank you both. >> thank you.
